Where exactly is Huberhof?
Huberhof's address is Mühlbach/Riomolino 23a, 39030 Gais (BZ), South Tyrol, Italy. Mühlbach, Riomolino in Italian, is a village in the municipality of Gais in the Tauferer Ahrntal.
Mühlbach sits above Gais at about 1,500 m, on the sunny, south-facing slope of the Mühlbach valley (Valle di Riomolino), which branches off to the north-east at Gais. Above the village begins the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park (Parco Naturale Vedrette di Ries-Aurina), which covers most of the valley. From Huberhof you look across the Bruneck basin to the Peitlerkofel (Sass de Putia, 2,875 m).
Mühlbach above Gais or Mühlbach near Brixen: which one is it?
There's more than one place called Mühlbach in South Tyrol, so it's worth taking a careful look at your satnav. Huberhof is in Mühlbach above Gais in the Tauferer Ahrntal, not in Mühlbach (Rio di Pusteria) near Brixen in the Eisacktal (Valle Isarco).
It's best to always enter the full address with the postcode 39030 and the town of Gais, or in Italian Riomolino, Gais. A quick check: on the map, the destination must be above Gais, about 15 to 20 minutes' drive from Bruneck, and not near Brixen. If your satnav shows something else, check the address again.
What is the road up to Huberhof like?
Huberhof is not in the valley but on the mountainside. Guests underestimate this more than anything else, so we'll be upfront about it: you drive up from the valley floor to about 1,500 m. The road up to Mühlbach goes either via Percha or via Uttenheim.
In winter the road is kept well cleared. We still recommend winter equipment for your car, meaning winter tyres or snow chains on board, and a little more time for the drive up after fresh snow.
When you arrive, each apartment has its own garage parking space with internal stairs. There is no charging point for electric cars at Huberhof, so plan to charge on the way. Bicycles go in the ski room, where you can also charge e-bikes.

Can you get to Huberhof by bus and train?
Yes, with a little planning. The nearest bus stop is about 5 minutes from Huberhof, and a minibus stops there three times a day. There is no ski bus from the farm.
With the guest card you receive on arrival, you can travel free of charge by bus and regional train throughout South Tyrol during your holiday, ski buses included. Long-distance trains such as Intercity and Eurocity are not included.
Because the minibus only runs three times a day, having a car here is very handy. If you'd like to come without a car, it's best to plan the connection with Doris beforehand, so that the bus times fit your arrival.

If you'd like breakfast on your first morning, order a breakfast box in advance, or fresh bread and croissants through our bread delivery service. Prices and details are under Info & prices.
